​Overview: What is Weber WATERS?

The Weber Watershed Action, Tracking, Evaluation & Restoration System (WATERS) is a collaborative mapping and decision-support tool developed by the Weber River Partnership to support watershed planning, restoration prioritization, and long-term stewardship across the Weber River Basin.

 

WATERS integrates scientific watershed data with local knowledge from communities, Tribes, organizations, agencies, and landowners to create a shared understanding of watershed conditions, challenges, and opportunities. This combined information helps identify priorities for restoration, conservation, and monitoring while also supporting funding and implementation efforts.

Project submissions contribute to a basin-wide inventory of watershed activities, helping partners coordinate efforts, reduce duplication, identify collaboration opportunities, and align investments across jurisdictions.

Whats Next:

Watershed Prioritization Framework (Coming Soon)

A watershed prioritization framework is being developed with stakeholders to evaluate and rank restoration and planning priorities. This process will define shared goals, criteria, and weighting systems to support transparent decision-making.

Projects will be evaluated using a structured decision matrix to help guide investment, funding, and implementation decisions across the basin.

​

As new information becomes available, the framework will be updated to reflect changing watershed conditions and emerging priorities.
