SWE represents the amount of water stored in the snowpack if it were to melt today. You can also explore current soil moisture conditions and reservoir storage across the Great Salt Lake Basin.
Explore Utah’s statewide snowpack conditions using this interactive map shared by the Utah Division of Water Resources and produced by the USDA NRCS Snow Survey Program. Snowpack provides about 95% of Utah’s water supply, and reservoir storage depends on both snow accumulation and spring runoff to sustain water resources through dry periods.
This chart also displays Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) for the Weber River watershed, showing current conditions alongside historical minimum, maximum, and average values. It provides a clear visual way to track how the snowpack has changed over the past year.

Based on the Weber River Styles Assessment, this map displays River Styles, Riparian Condition Assessment Tool (RCAT), and Riverscapes datasets that help identify river health, channel condition, and opportunities for natural recovery. Developed using RCAT and the Riverscapes framework, this resource provides a science-based perspective on river condition and recovery potential across the Weber River Basin.
NAIP-CHM Canopy Height Explorer
Explore the NAIP-CHM Canopy Height Explorer to view high-resolution vegetation structure and canopy height across the contiguous United States. Developed by the University of Montana, Working Lands for Wildlife, USDA Agricultural Research Service, and the New Mexico Consortium, this open-access tool maps the height of individual trees and shrubs at sub-meter resolution. Users can compare canopy height with multiple basemaps using the split-screen slider or transparent overlay, draw points or polygons to analyze canopy height, and explore vegetation structure to support applications such as habitat assessment, wildfire planning, woodland management, and restoration. For the most accurate comparison, use the Source NAIP Imagery basemap when viewing canopy height alongside aerial imagery.
